Initiative#54: Damn, it’s time for a revamp.
To have life be this
The thumbnail photo by the way is from the awesome Brad Crooks
(And I got this photo from these awesome folks
)
And not this
It was about time I took a break from ‘scaring’ myself everyday with a challenging task. I mean I have:
1) talked to 110 strangers so far,and this is my favorite stranger story since I’ve started this blog
2) climbed and fallen off 16 trees on 10 separate occasions ( And well..I haven’t gotten very high up …)
3) gone climbing and slacklining a bunch of times. Am currently scouting for a victim climbing partner
Contact me, you know you want to see me scale that wall.
4) attempted to wakeboard. Still unsuccessful.
5) spoke in front of 1000 people and admitted what a fraidy cat I was.
6) watched 5 horror movies.
7) forced myself to video myself cartwheeling and do handstands in public to get over my fear of being upside down. I make myself do a handstand in public once a week.
Why? Because repetition builds habit, habit builds muscle memory, muscle memory equals new found security, which equals to NO MORE FEAR. I can feel it coming!!!!
voluntary did TWO blood tests and arranged a blood donation date with my best friend. The video of me passing out at the sight of blood is coming soon.
9) had coffee chats with bloggers/ people whom I seriously admire/who intimidate the $**T out of me
Andi is doing a monthly themed(!) blog challenge too for her blog and I’m so in love with the idea!
I love being surrounded by awesomeness, even if these awesome people are, at heart, intimidating!
10) performed THREE self choreographed pieces alone in front of my peers. THAT was truly nerve wrecking.
But Initiative #54 is possibly the scariest thing I’ve done so far, in terms of my budding career life.
I officially resigned from my two jobs as of today. Yes folks, I quit both the jobs I once coveted and once loved very very much.
I’m taking the time to focus on myself now, I think…it’s about time I did some of that.
All this is but a brief summary of all the things I’ve done so far. I’m also about to tackle the next bunch of Fear Initiatives which go very much deeper – I’m going to face my prejudices next.
Think bikes and balloons, homeless people and punk kids, white rice and whole wheat bread, and ambi-dancers.
Think…revamp.
But as for now, time to dance! I’m performing SIX times this weekend ( just got done with 2 shows actually!!!) and THREE times next weekend. If you’re in Boulder, come watch me dance!!!

I see it didn’t take you long to get back on the horse
I’m glad you’re going to be taking some rest and looking after yourself better. You deserve it. I’m interested in your thoughts on perfection. Do you covet it?
By the way, the whole wheat bread told me to tell you it’s sick and tired of your blatant discrimination and it’s glad you’re finally decided to change your ways.
