The Summary of Initiative#31 to #34
Because accountability builds integrity
I haven’t fallen behind dear friends!
Initiative#31:Meeting Up with A Blogging Diva

Got to talk about blogging with Grace Boyle, the proud blog owner of SmallHandsBigIdeas
Shared some gorgeous blogging love moments with her. Check out her stories and the great giveaways! I found out about Operation Beautiful from her blog and Caitlin Boyle’s story is truly inspiring!
Initiative#32: Reaching Up For That DARNED ROCK
Shawn took me for a bouldering / climbing lesson. So in my last climbing post I wrote proudly of how I did a 5.10a (pretty darn well too!) We went to the Boulder Rock Club instead of Movement this time and I spotted a 5.8 climb that looked pretty doable.
1 hour later, I was still stuck on the same climb. In the same spot.
Shawn patiently held the belay and reminded me to let my right hand go and reach up for the yellow rock. More like..droned it actually. I could tell that he was frustrated with my inability to let go and reach for the unknown.
“Just reach up for it anyway! Don’t worry about your feet! Just reach your right hand up and figure out the rest of your body moves later!”
I would recall later how piercing the fear of falling was. But the fear of failing was even more petrifying. And in that moment of clarity, I REACHED for that DARNED YELLOW ROCK. And made my climbing breakthrough.
Photo by ground zero. I want to be this person SOON!
New climbing mantra: Let go and reach up.
Hmm….it should be a mantra for life, no? What do you think?
Initiative #33: Handstand.
Stay tuned for my handstand series posts!!!! I’m working towards that perfect handstand!!! And doing it in public!!!
Initiative#34: Random Stranger? Approach.
My least favorite Initiative of the Week : Giving a High Five to 5 random strangers and telling them have a great day.
It was awkward at first (when have I ever been NOT awkward..). I approached girls only too and they probably thought I was some crazy single lesbian.
I also personally find it harder to approach girls; the advantage of being a girl approaching men is that they usually think you’re hitting on them. And that flatters them thus making them more receptive to your crazy schemes.
*** (Just as a sidenote: I’ve nothing against people who are single and gay but from what I’ve heard, it’s a lot harder to approach a woman with a dating/relationship intent. What do you think?? )
The awkwardness did not stop. Their boyfriends/ dates/ various passer-bys also gave me cutting cold stares.
Someone eat me up already.
I think I have to do this one again. Anyone want to do it with me???

Comments
Aw, I’m so flattered. Me? A blogging diva? It’s the first I’ve been (publicly) called that, but I’ll take it!
I am so happy that you reached out and that we were able to meet. I really believe in the blogging community, it picked me up, teaches me things, is open and communicative and so I only hope to provide that to others, always.
So if you ever have any questions, ideas, thoughts, feedback or need some blogging backbone email or call me. I’m so happy to help.
PS. I giggled when I saw this picture of me doing yoga. It was for my friend’s blog, Modite (fantastic read, check Rebecca out at http://modite.com/blog/) as she was doing a group goal setting and mine was about doing yoga. Speaking of, see you Tuesday for yoga!
Thank you so much Grace for meeting up with me! I learnt so much from you and I would certainly award you that title any day
Looking forward to yoga tomorrow
[...] She has a blog, Initiative 180, where she does something for 180 days that scares her. Apparently, meeting up with me was #31 (but turned out not-scary after actually meeting me, right Stephanie?) We even did yoga together [...]
