C.I.S. stands for..

Completed Initiatives Summarized. Boo yea.

Initiative#14:

Failed attempt to tell a stranger how cool he was at the airport. It was a massive fail. Like..Massive. Fail. And he was doing this! HOW COOL IS THAT? * bangs head on wall..

Initiative#15:

Wrote a really long email to a friend who has been blasting nasty rumors about another friend. I try to stand up for my friends as much as I can but I usually don’t partcipate in interfriend arguments.

Even just taking notice of them is not my thing because usually failed friendships are a result of complex misunderstandings and mishaps. Who am I to take sides and analyze who’s really at fault?

Nevertheless, I got a really nasty email back that grieved me to no end. Sigh. I might have lost her friendship but I stood up for someone I believed in. And that thought is belief-sustainable enough.

Initiative#16:

Leading in Blues Dance. I went for an introductory blues dance class by possibly the best Blues Dance instructors in the world and impulsively, instead of being the follower on the social floor, I decided to be the ‘leader’ instead.

Man..that was ffreaking empowering. I love being in charge; how and why did I ever doubt my leading abilities?

My two very hot instructors, Joe and Nelle. * Swoons….*

Initiative#17:

Finished one book on my booklist!

(and I went out and got another book. in addition to the other 7 on my list. errr, i think this initiative backfired..)

Initiative#18:

Went rockclimbing with my first Malaysian visitor! And attempted a 5.10a climb. I didn’t succeed in completing it but hey, just attempting it was a huge confidence booster :)

Initiative#19:

Meeting three very awesome bloggers in my field ( as in the field of fun, self development, and awesomeness :) ) and learning more swing dance aerials.

That’s two fears! I was pretty proud of myself that day.

I also think I need to dedicate a whole post to Colin, Andi, and Ash (she’s got some hot salsa moves this one). And try leading Colin in a blues dance/salsa. Wonder if he’s up for it…

Initiative#20:

Stepped on the scale. Urgh. Urgh. The numbers weren’t exactly pleasing nor were they particularly horror-inducing, thank god. I think I took like 20minutes just to make myself step on it; I’ve a long history of low self esteem corelated to my weight and dancing ability.

I think my next initiative would be actually posting my weight on this blog. Erm…ewww. Why would I want to do that??

Initiative Challenge = Boo yea. Hold me accountable folks.

Hi, glad to see you have a booklist. Hope you have the Bible, Koran and the Torah on your list. So many people are “well read”, but what does that really mean to you? Read these books, I promise you will be entertained, inspired, horrified and enlightened all at once…

I just read The Color of Water a few weeks ago- It was realllllly realllly good! I think I finished it in one sitting.

Just visiting from SITS- you mentioned trying the 5.10a- I’ve yet to meet another climber here! Although I don’t climb at the moment d/t being in grad school in a location that offers no such thing, but still- was exciting to see that!

Okay- so now I am stalking you it seems. I just went and read your ‘to do’ list and see you live in CO. If you haven’t completed some of those outdoorsy things before I get back to Denver, I will take you rock climbing, ice climbing- whatever you want. (although my husband would have to come ice-climbing with us because I’m really not all that good at ice)

Are you serious????? I’ve been here for 2 years but my timidness and great excuse-making abilities have prevented me from taking advantage of this state. We should totally get together and climb! I’m a terrible climber just to warn you..Where do you live???

Haha I would love to try ice climbing and yes, when you get back to CO we must climb! And do lots of outdoorsy things! It’s so funny that you’re living in MI now because I was JUST there 2 weeks ago. When will you be in CO next?
